7. Continuous and Lingering Joint Discomfort
After experiencing pain at its most excruciating, usually within the first 4 to 12 hours after its onset, patients would gradually feel it to subside slowly. This process usually takes a few days to a few weeks during which a lingering discomfort remains.
Complete recovery from the discomfort usually necessitates medical intervention with some form of anti-inflammatory drug combined with a uric acid lowering drug. But more often than not, later attacks are bound to happen, which are likely to affect more joints and last longer.
