25. Walking To Meet Death

High wire walker Karl Wallenda had embarked on a 121-feet above ground walk in Puerto Rico in 1978. Working without a safety net, the circus legend died at age 73 moments after this picture was captured. He was almost half way across when a wind exceeding 30 miles per hour made the high wire sway. Karl tried to sit on the wire but slipped and fell to his death.

26. Awaiting Death

In 2013, two engineers, ages 19 and 21, died moments after this photo was captured. A fire started at the top of this 220-feet tall wind turbine in Holland. This tragic image showed the two co-workers awaiting their death.
