39. Twin Towers
This evocative photograph of the World Trade Center on September 10th, 2001 was taken on a stormy day before the 9/11 attacks. The image is a powerful reminder of the tragic day which also helps us remember the impermanence of all things even if they stand tall and strong as these towers during the storm.
40. New Year’s Madness
The celebration of the New Year for 2017 in Istanbul, Turkey ended in a tragedy that killed 39 people including 25 foreigners. This photograph was taken minutes before the massive shooting which took place in Reina Nightclub.
