Greenwich Village
If you don’t want to sound like a total tourist, then when pronouncing Greenwich Village, be sure to say Gre-nich, and not accidentally pronounce it as “green.” You could also just say ‘The Village’ since this is how most locals say it as well. Unlike most of Manhattan, Greenwich isn’t full of skyscrapers and incredibly tall buildings. Rather, it has beautiful townhouses that gives it that quaint and picturesque charm, as well as being home to New York University, and many of the more artistic and intellectual folk as well.
