Hell’s Kitchen
There are a number of ideas about how Hell’s Kitchen got its name; from stories about how it was once quite the violent area way back when, to being named after a German restaurant that used to reside there, to a cop complaining that the area was “hell itself.” Of course this was all a long time ago because now, Hell’s Kitchen is one of the chicest neighborhoods in town, serving up a bunch of fusion cuisine in a number of trendy restaurants, to being home to performance art and a booming nightlife.
