Against the Arrest

Gross and Leonardo’s family were reeling from the shock, but the most outspoken one of the bunch was Gross’ mother. Tracy Gross believed that if her son Daniel hadn’t met Leonardo, then he would have been walking free. She believed that he threw his life away for a woman, someone who wasn’t even worth it. More importantly, she finally told police what she had heard days prior to Cuesta’s murder.

Planned Killing

Tracy said that Melissa Leonardo had talked about the murder days before. She was pregnant then and had been extremely angry. She knew that they were going to tie up Cuesta before stabbing her. Then, she heard her son disagree. He didn’t want to do what she had in mind. And at that time, Tracy hadn’t put the pieces of the puzzle together. If she knew this was going to happen, she said that she would have put a stop to it.
