Noticing His Disappearance

A neighbor did notice that Reso’s car was still in the driveway. The engine was still on. Hence, she immediately called the police and reported the suspicious incident to them. They searched the area and found nothing. Their assumption that this was a kidnapping for ransom was correct and they wanted to fool the kidnappers into thinking that they were going to cooperate.

Getting a Call

Soon enough, the cops got the dreaded phone call. The woman on the other line claimed to be Reso’s kidnapper. She led the police on a merry chase. She told them that she was a member of Greenpeace, a famous environmental group. She claims that they had kidnapped the man because he was an employee for Exxon and the company he worked for was responsible for a major oil spill that had happened years before.
