Evan Fong, a gaming commentator from Canada is this year’s 29th most subscribed channel on the popular video sharing platform with over 10 billion views and 23.8 million subscribers. The 26-year-old sensation’s videos show him playing mainstream games such as Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed with other gamers who he collaborates with, making his content light, funny and entertaining, which is really part of its appeal.

His story

Evan Fong who was born and raised in Canada to a Chinese father and a Korean mother wasn’t really a gaming fan as a kid. He says that video games were an occasional pastime, playing some games “here and there” until he created the VanossGaming channel in 2011. He was an economics major for a time but decided to drop-out to concentrate on his budding YouTube channel, a decision that made his parents upset at first as they were concerned about his studies. Admittedly, he knows that the path he chose did not guarantee one success.
