Don’t Arrive On Time

Everywhere else you go, punctuality is a good trait and is admired. Sadly, not in the Philippines. There is such a thing called “Filipino time”, which refers to a delay of between 15 minutes to an hour. Meeting up with a local will most likely mean you will end up waiting, so try not to take offense. And when you are invited to a house for dinner for example, showing up on time will stress out the hosts as they will feel they have to rush their preparations. Be fashionably late, it is very much accepted and appreciated.
