Looking For Clues

Zaragoza had visited Krebs around 24 times since becoming his parole officer, and he decided to tell the San Luis Obispo Police Department his thoughts. They had placed the tip on low priority since there was nothing to tie Krebs to the crimes at the time. Zaragoza explained, “At that time, they were getting hundreds of leads per day. And they’re going to go through every lead. Because you have to – that’s just the way it’s got to be done.”

84 Lumber

Krebs had been working at 84 Lumber full-time since he got out of jail, and was even considered “a nice guy” by those who had contact with him. He was often seen at regular bars around town, sometimes even with co-workers, having a couple of beers. Despite that, Zaragoza had a gut feeling that Krebs had something to do with both girls’ abduction. Finally, Zaragoza was given authority of the Attorney General’s Office to look further into Krebs.
