The Importance Of Mary Brunner

It seems that one of the turning points of Manson’s criminal career came into play when he and Mary Brunner met. She was considered his first “convert.” From this time onwards, Manson’s following grew, picking up girls here and there while traveling to different locations. Brunner got pregnant and birthed Manson’s third son whom they named Valentine Michael Manson, after a favorite character of Manson from the book, Stranger in a Strange Land. While living together with Mary Brunner, Manson was said to have brought home lots of other women to live with them. By this time, Manson considered himself a “Guru”, teaching about Scientology, which he had learned while incarcerated, as well as taking teachings from the Process Church. They believed that Satan and Christ would come together at the end of the world to pass judgment on everyone. He even implied that he was Jesus, sharing a story of seeing himself nailed to the cross.
