Despite being behind bars, his notoriety and fame have provided him with both haters and lovers. One such admirer, Afton Burton, started writing to him when she was just a teen and became his fiancée in 2014. Though there were many rumors stating that she was only in it for fame and attention.

Dealing With The Truth

Robert Matthews, who is now 48-years old, attempted to get DNA tests done to prove that he is really the biological son of Charles Manson. Both tests remained to be inconclusive because the samples were supposedly contaminated. According to Matthews, “I get a lot of flack from people saying I’m trying to ride on some kind of legacy or trying to build a career. It has done nothing to advance my career – if anything it has ruined it.”
