And lucky for them, parents are actually gullible enough to buy them, especially since they can even purchase matching outfits for both daughter and doll. The company also prides itself in the fact that it carries a wide range of ethnicities, backgrounds and interests per doll. But when the company released Gwen Thompson, the ‘Homeless Girl,’ there was a huge stink about it, outraging parents everywhere. While the toy manufacturer defended itself in saying that it was to promote tolerance and understanding of families that have gone homeless, parents just couldn’t let it go.
