21. Death from a snake’s severed head
In one of the most unusual cases of death involving food, a chef in Foshan, China named Peng Fan died when he was bitten by a severed head of a cobra. A snake’s head is known to still be capable of biting a few minutes after being severed from its body. He put the head aside while preparing to cook the rest of the snake when the deadly mishap took place.
