7. Death by death wish
American revolutionary James Otis Jr. certainly got what he wished for in terms of how he wanted to go. He often told his friends that when his time arrived, he wanted to be struck down by a lightning bolt. And when the hour finally came, James died when lightning struck the chimney as he was standing in the doorway of his friend’s house.
