40 Unexpected And Sudden Deaths By Unusual Causes

6. Death by a car wash machine

In Wyoming, Michigan, Dave Chapney was shutting down the car wash early. Just when he was doing the last-minute chores, a customer drove up who was there earlier that day, complaining his car wasn’t clean. Dave turned the machines back on to fix the customer’s problem. The customer, on the other hand, took matters into his own hands. He grabbed one of the power hoses and proceeded to spray water on his truck while Dave was away. The customer certainly was not qualified to handle the car wash equipment with all the safety rules that need to be followed. After hosing his truck, he left the power house on the floor. Dave had to pick it up 30 seconds before closing down, enough time for the huge scrubbers which were still rotating at the time to be wrapped around in the house which it caught. It also caught one of Dave’s foot, causing him to fall and hit his head hard, leaving him unconscious. He was seen hanging on one of the huge scrubbers, lifeless, wrapped around the power hose.
