Then on June 13, just one day before his trial hearing was set to take place, Nicky, who was only 13-years-old at the time, went to play a few games of basketball with friends after school. When he called home to ask if his mom could come pick him up after he was done, his older half-brother told him that she was asleep and that he didn’t want to wake her. Soon after, darkness fell and Nicholas had still not made it home.

Officially Considered Missing

Although Nicholas had known to disappear before, he had always made it back home. His young life was not exactly an ideal one. His mother, Beverly, was a heroin addict, while his older half-brother Jason, had to move back home to help ‘deal’ with the troubled teen. After Nicky had gone missing, his brother claimed to have seen him breaking into their garage, but when police searched the premises, they didn’t find anything conclusive. Police thought that his brother had made the entire story up, and Nicky was never seen again.
