It Was An Impossible Journey
Garfield Sheriff’s Department Spokeswoman said, “It is some of the most rugged, unforgiving terrain you will find anywhere on Earth, jagged cliffs, stone ledges, sandstone, sagebrush, juniper.” She added, “Where William was hiking, there just isn’t anyone out there. There are no people. There are no towns.”
Eating Frogs And Staying Hydrated
William had run out of food and regular drinking water during his hike. And considering the emptiness that surrounded him on his walk, it was astonishing that he had stayed alive at all. William used his survival skills to catch frogs and eat them, forage for roots and other edibles, as well as drink the water in the river to remain hydrated. He would also make fires at night to keep warm. But despite everything that he had done to survive, he had still lost 50 pounds in a span of three weeks.
