Calling The Police

William’s sister Lisa, decided to call the authorities to explain what had happened and give them a few details about William. They explained that he had gone off on a hike on his own with his dog, and that after his last phone call to their dad, he went missing without a trace, and in one of the most unforgiving places at that.

Searching For William

When Lisa told the Sherriff Department about William, and the fact that he was autistic, Garfield’s County Deputy Ray Gardner would go with Utah Highway Patrol helicopter pilot, Shane Oldfield, in search of William. They knew it was going to be a very difficult hunt too, considering the area they were searching was known to be quite desolate.
