Last Words

After requesting that his letters get to his parents, he finished up his notes with “I love you all and I pray none of you love anything in this world more than Jesus Christ.” And those were some of the very last words he would ever write in his young life.

When John woke up the morning of the 16th, he would ask his fishermen friends to drop him off by the shore once more, another attempt to make positive contact with these people he felt so compelled to learn the word of God. But when the fishermen came back one day later, the sight that greeted them would make them regret that they had ever listened to the young man.
