The Sentinelese Tribe

Despite only a handful of people being allowed to have actual contact with the tribe, and not for lack of trying, they Sentinelese have managed to remain alive and basically isolated from the rest of the world for over 55,000 years. They are African descendants who manage to stay alive by hunting and gathering, as well as fishing with spears and bows, which also seemed to be the same way that they kept themselves safe from outside influences. 

Insisting On Making Contact

While it took John 3 years to finally make those long-awaited plans come true, he was able to finally make it back to the distant island in November of 2018. Locals in the area know that it was against the law to attempt to make contact with the protected tribe, and yet, John was able to convince 7 local fishermen by paying them $325 to get him close to the island.
