Not What He Expected

As he got closer, John shared in his journal how the “two armed Sentinelese came rushing out yelling,” and that they were “just inches” away from each other. John then shouted, “My name is John, I love you and Jesus loves you,” but the response that he was hoping to get was nothing close to the one that he would receive. 

Shooting His Bible

Given that the tribe has used bow and arrows for over thousands of years, they knew exactly how to use them. As John got closer, he shared how a juvenile boy of around 10 years of age shot an arrow at him, hitting the bible he was carrying, even damaging his kayak. Scared for his life, John decided to swim back to boat where the fishermen were waiting for him in an attempt to figure out how he could show them that he came in peace.
