As the trial went on, Assistant District Attorney, Alan Martin, showed the jury a reenactment of what they believed happened in the home of the Corbett’s on that fateful day in August. Evidence proved that a portion of Jason’s scalp tissue had been found on the brick that Molly used to hit her husband on the head. Her pajamas even had ‘human tissue stains’ on them. At the end of the trial, the jury found both Thomas and Molly Martens, guilty of the second-degree murder of Jason Corbett. They didn’t believe that either father or daughter acted out of self-defense, but rather worked together to end his life. After the verdict was given, Molly even said, “I’m really sorry to my mom, he [Jason] should have just killed me.” Father and daughter were given a minimum of 20 years in prison each.
