Two Months Later

During the weekend of August 2, 2015, Thomas and his wife, Sharon, had gone to visit Molly and her family in their home at 160 Panther Creek Court in North Carolina. Their home was a beautiful sprawling space that made one think that they were truly living the American dream. Jason was out of the house when his in-laws arrived, having a few drinks with some friends. Upon his arrival back home, he was surprised that evening when he arrived home and found his father and mother-in-law in his house.

Noises In The Middle Of The Night

That same evening on August 2, according to Molly, her stepdaughter Sarah had woken up in the middle of the night and went to their bedroom door. She had had a bad dream and was looking for Molly. Molly wanted to comfort her, but Jason became upset upon being woken up from the noise, saying that Sarah was too old to be coddled. Things quickly turned ugly and the argument escalated into an all-out fight. That’s when Molly’s father, Thomas, said he heard noises and thuds coming from the room upstairs.
