10. Great Dane

Great Danes are one of the most popular dogs known to man, mostly due to its incredible size. The biggest recorded Great Dane was 44 inches tall in height. These dogs originated from Germany, bred to hunt European wild boar. Many of these dogs enjoy chasing smaller animals and prefer to keep the company of their owners rather than be left alone for long periods of time.

11. Cane Corso

The Cane Corso is also known as the Italian Mastiff. Grand in size, its head is the most noticeable portion of this animal’s body. In its earlier existence, this breed was used not only to hunt, but it was used to guard its owner and be a companion as well. Even as a pup, this gigantic mammal needs a lot of attention, training and forceful leadership in order to keep it in check.
