In the morning, hundreds of crouching and crying people had to be caught with nets. Pretty soon insane asylums were filled-those admitted had to wear straitjackets or be bound to their beds. Some would have to live there for life, and endure electroshock therapy for as long as they were alive. French authorities from all over the country went to the village to restore order, and it would take time for doctors to come over and find out what was going on.
