Frozen In Time
Port-Saint-Esprit was a place where time stood still. People there lived pretty much the same way as they did in the Middle Ages. Farmers tended to their fields while the women stayed at home and took care of the children. It was a calm, old-fashioned place which did not seem to change despite developments that took place over a hundred years, and it never looked like things were ever going to change.
