Moving On With His Life
When he got back home to Maine, Callahan had met up with Kathy Massimini, who was said to be an old friend. Callahan shares, “Neither of us had anything. We had these rusted out vehicles. I didn’t have clothes to start with. We started to live together to share the $125 a month farmhouse. [We] got married in 1994, [been] together since 1982. She’s my best mate, sailing partner, a partner in life.”
Writing A Book
In 1986, Steven Callahan’s story became even more famous all over the world, as he had written a book called “Adrift: 76 Days Lost At Sea,” which speaks about his harrowing experience. The book became a New York Times bestseller, even staying on the list for over 36 weeks. He had become a legend, and a survivor, in every sense of the word.
