Aside from the elite North Korean soldiers being armed with “nuclear backpacks”, military service is mandatory even for women. RT News reported that each of the women has her hair cut to the same prescribed length on the nape of the neck while in mini-skirts and short socks over flesh-colored tights. Each woman has either one or two medals depending on her service record while sported with ceremonial cords wrapped around each shoe.
