Arresting Them For Fraud
The FBI decided that, although they couldn’t arrest them for Malezhik’s disappearance, they could arrest them for identity theft. They were able to get a warrant so that they could go to Yakovlev’s apartment on Surf Avenue. So on July 24, 2009, authorities made their first move on the couple.
