While questioning Yakovlev about his recent activities, Agent Abrahams had explained to Dmitriy that he was being held for identity theft. But what Yakovlev didn’t realize that during the time he was being questioned, he was going to end up tipping off the FBI agents of someone else that he had apparently been stealing from. He gave up the name “Viktor,” sharing that this alleged person owed him money which is why he used his card.
