One of Yakovlev’s old friends turned enemy was a man named Basalyga who was from Estonia. The apartment that he lived in belonged to Yakovlev and he had been involved semi-involuntarily in the dirty deeds of Yakovlev. Yakovlev, who had been flipping houses, asked Basalyga if he could use his wife, Julie’s, name on a deed of the home that Basalyga was going to buy from one Michael Kline, who lived in Sea Gate as well.
