Although incomplete at the moment, tourists and visitors have admired Auroville’s Green Belt. It covers a whopping 405 hectares of land and stands as a perfect example of how wastelands can be transformed to a fully functioning and attractive ecosystem. Water here is conserved, recharged, and reused so that nothing is discarded. And as the city continues to attract incoming residents, the town officials plan to double the size of this area.

Auroville has been dubbed as the City of Dawn as it tries to be a peaceful, anarchic community that’s free of stife, suffering, and anger. Aside from the aforementioned structures and design, the people follow a unique method of living. They don’t have a government and they don’t use the money we need for our everyday life.
