Texting Mommy

Less than one hour later, Nili, Donna’s mother, received a message from Donna saying, “Battery’s dying. I’m in San Diego. Be home soon. I love you, Mommy.” Although for Nili, this wasn’t unusual for Donna to message her this way, she had a foreboding feeling that didn’t sit well with her. But there was nothing she could do about it at the moment but wait for Donna to get back home.

Where’s Donna?

The following day, Donna never made it to class. Her friends had found this very strange since they were certain that if something were wrong, or if she wasn’t feeling well, she would have told one of them about it. When it came time to start her work later on that day, Donna was still nowhere to be found. Her parents then came to the conclusion that she had never made it home the evening before and so began the frenzied search for Donna’s whereabouts.
