Apparently, He Was Having An Affair
By January 16, around 3 weeks into the investigation, police would find out that Scott Peterson was having an affair with a woman named Amber Frey. She was a massage therapist from the Fresno area, and she claimed that they started dating in November, just a month before Laci went missing. Apparently, Scott had told Amber that he was a widower and that this was going to be his first Christmas without his late wife. She had read about the disturbing news and had seen Scott’s name, and she knew she had to tell the police what she knew.
