Finally, Rosalynn would be able to make the one call that was going to finally change her life forever. She called the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, otherwise known as NCMEC. And while she was under their care, and the care of the American Embassy, she would wait out two months while she and her children would WAIT TO get their emergency passports, as well as extradition back to the United States.

Rosalynn knew that one day, she would need to get out of Piette’s clutches. But at the time she was under his captivity, she just didn’t know how she would do it. She explains, “I knew that if I didn’t get out of there, I’d either go insane or I would end up dying and leaving my kids with that man.” And thankfully, her escape came in the form of a woman named Lisa.
