The Tsanfleuron Glacier, which is approximately 3.5 kilometers long, is also one of the world’s top ski areas. It is also popularly known as ‘Glacier 3000.’ But many years ago, this area wasn’t a tourist area at all. In fact, it would seem that the mountainous region was situated very close to a village. And that village was home to a small number of Swiss families.

The quaint and picturesque village known as Chandolin can be found in the Sierre district of Valais. These days, the remote, yet the gorgeous area is not highly populated. In fact, it has been reported that no more than 200 people have lived in the area at one time.
