The father, Marcelin, who was 40-years-old, was a shoemaker. While their mother Francine, 37-years-old, was a teacher. Their children’s ages ranged from 13 to 4. Their youngest child was a little girl named Marceline.

Francine usually didn’t go with her husband up the meadow due to having to stay behind to watch over their 7 children. But for some reason that day, she decided to join him. Sadly on that Saturday, both parents never made it home to their waiting children.
