The roof above the children was starting to collapse and it definitely wasn’t helping make things better. The children cried when they noticed the seams breaking, and they all decided that if they all had to die, they would at least try to get out. It was a desperate situation, especially for the younger children who had no sense of time. They didn’t know if it had already been dark out or if they at least had some light to guide them through the escape. At this point, it just seemed hopeless.
