Over the next few days, the investigators searched high and low for every clue. They first visited the rock quarry where the children had been kept. They came to the conclusion that in order to enter the quarry undetected, one of them kidnappers needed access to it. So, they honed in on the person who had the keys to the area and they discovered a man named Frederick “Fred” Newhall Woods, a 24-year old who was the son of the owner of the quarry. At this point he immediately became a person of interest.
