Lost

The security guards that expected for the call from the thieves within a year waited in vain. No call ever came. Museum Director Anne Hawley also received a letter that promised to return the stolen items as long as they gave $2.6 million. If she was amenable, she needed to publish a coded message in the business section of The Boston Globe. The instructions were followed to a T, but nothing ever came out of it.

Reviewing Tapes

Again, tapes from the CCTV tapes were reviewed. While the two thieves were unrecognizable, the authorities considered Abeth’s involvement. However, it was concluded that the security guards didn’t have the imagination needed to pull off the complicated heist. And again, they had to look elsewhere for potential suspects.
