Longview Lake is a 930 acre freshwater reservoir in parts of Kansas City, which is part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Blue River project for flood control, fish and wildlife conservation, and recreation. There is a lot you can do at the lake. Personal water crafts are allowed, or you can also rent at the marina. Fishing is very popular as certain species such as largemouth bass, carp, and bluegill are anglers’ favorites. An acre of sand provides for a beach-like area for swimming, sun-bathing, beach volleyball, and more.
