This museum is dedicated to preserving the history of Negro League Baseball in America. This is why it has not been renamed properly. It shares the building with the American Jazz Museum. The museum chronologically charts the progress of the Negro leagues from the 1920’s until 1962. Visitors will move forward in time as they progress through the exhibit. Artifacts such as uniforms, cleats, gloves of notable players like Josh Gibson, one of the most prolific hitters in all of baseball history. Other legends include Buck Leonard, Pop Lloyd, Cool Papa Bell, and Leon Day. Relive history and “feel” what it was like back then.
