One morning in 1980, a group of loggers from the small mountain city of Jasper, Georgia, were clearing a small area in the middle of the woods. It was a regular day at work, with nothing out of the ordinary happening that morning. Just before their noon break, they noticed an odd looking tree, nothing like the others they’ve encountered in the past.
