Cory Tschogl, San Francisco
Cory Tschogl didn’t think anything of renting out her Palm Springs condo to brothers Maksym and Denys Pashanin. The two were to rent the place for 6 weeks. But when the time came for the brothers to leave, they refused, stating that they could sue Tschogl because of a California tenant law protecting renters living in one place for over 30 days. But after a flurry of media and the press of lawyers, the brothers eventually slipped out in the middle of the night, two months into their stay, and disappeared without a trace.
