Poonam Sandhu, a 33-year old resident of Santa Cruz, California, decided to use Airbnb to rent out one of her extra rooms. She got a hit from a couple who was interested in renting the extra room for 2 weeks. The couple was seemingly harmless, so when they asked if they could extend their stay longer and just pay cash, Sandhu agreed. And that’s when everything went downhill.

She Had To Pay Them To Leave

This is when the renting couple reportedly began fighting, so much so that they would scream and yell all the time, and quite loudly at that. Then when their next two weeks were up, they refused to leave. This is also when they used the California Tenant’s Rights Law, which states that anyone living in your home for 30 days or more is instantly considered a legal tenant. Unfortunately for Sandhu, in spite the couple also stealing from her, she also had to force them to leave and even pay them $1,700 for relocation fees. Talk about getting the raw end of the deal.
