John Templeman, originally from Australia, is a lawyer living in Montauk, New York. He decided to list his 4-bedroom country home for $1,600 a night on the site, as he would be gone for the summer. Airbnb was the perfect solution to earning some money in the meantime. But if he knew what his renters had planned for his beautiful home, we’re certain that he would have never agreed to rent it out in the first place.

Templeman’s home became known as the “Party Down The Block.” The neighbors began complaining when week after week, new people, cars, parties and endless noise would reverberate from the house. One particular neighbor even started a Facebook page called ‘Montauk Rental Madness,’ showcasing the crazy events going on night after night. Trash in the garden, sex in the hot tub, cars and people coming and going, it would seem that the renter had found the perfect summer party house. And he was renting it out to others as such, in order to make the hefty $1600 a night stay. Unfortunately for Templeman, his issues didn’t end upon his return as he had to face a number of legal issues from his very upset next-door neighbors.
