17. Loss of Appetite
Kidney stones are formed when minerals lodge and accumulate inside the tiny structures of the kidneys called nephrons. At some point, these stones become big enough to block the passage of urine as well as cause damage to the tissues surrounding it. Since the digestive tract and the kidneys share the same nerve connections, any condition that affects the kidney will have an effect on the GI tract, and one such effect is loss of appetite.
