Where Are The Children Now?

Since the children have been taken into custody, they all had to undergo DNA testing to make sure that they were truly siblings and not victims of kidnap. They have been going through psychological treatment, as well as being medically examined to see the full extent of damage to their malnourished bodies. But what may be even more heartbreaking is that there is a possibility that not all the children will remain together. While the older kids will go to assisted living homes, the younger ones may be divided into two separate foster homes. But whatever the case may be, they all have a very long road to recovery, and everyone is praying that they can survive their horrid past.

The funding needed for the children’s medical bills and continued therapy for their recovery is extensive, but thankfully, the case has touched so many lives that people have donated up to $370,000 to help the children. Plus other fundraisers have started that have reached amounts of around $200,000. Erin Phillips, a spokesperson for the Riverside University Health System, said, “It’s been amazing the outpouring of love and sentiments. It reminds us there is so much light in this world in contrast to such a dark case.”
