May 4 Hearing
Finally, on May 4, both Turpin parents were requested to go to court in order to hear evidence that would be presented to the judge. The prosecution team played the actual audio recording of the 17-year old daughter who had the guts to call the police on her parents. While listening to the 20-minute call, Louise Turpin was said to wipe away tears as she listened to her daughter’s pleas for help.
More Evidence Emerging
Since the children have been rescued, as well as all of their journals which have been studied as even more evidence against the 13 children’s parents, there have been even more charges brought against them. While they were facing up to 50 different counts of unlawful deeds, the judge has decided that they need to go to trial for all but one of the 50 counts they are facing. The trial is now set for August 3, 2018.
